Let's Make Robots!

"Introduction to Artificial Intelligence" online course

Stanford univesity is going to make their "Introduction to Artificial Intelligence" course online. I think this could be very interesting for many people building robots. The following is the cite copied from the original announcement here http://www.ai-class.com/:
"A bold experiment in distributed education, "Introduction to Artificial Intelligence" will be offered free and online to students worldwide during the fall of 2011. The course will include feedback on progress and a statement of accomplishment. Taught by Sebastian Thrun and Peter Norvig, the curriculum draws from that used in Stanford's introductory Artificial Intelligence course. The instructors will offer similar materials, assignments, and exams."

It is available at Udacity. In addition, I would also recommend "Artificial Intelligence for Robotics".

Awesome! I hope I can keep up with this while being a full-time student. =]

I think even an old-dude like me could learn something. I am NOT an AI expert. It is one area where I have had little experience, but I believe it would be great to add AI to a robot such as my Shrödinger project.  I signed up.

I found out that there are some more free online courses available which are relevant for robotics: http://see.stanford.edu/see/courses.aspx

Pretty interesting.... Why not to try? It is free!

I think I would give it a try!

Thanks for information!

Well, time is money :-) so it is not quite free. And I assume that it would take quite some time (lectures, homeworks, etc.). But I am also think that it is worth to try - these guys are really experts in AI and it is unique opportunity to learn from them.
