preparing robot for robo war

can anyone tell how should i make first robot that could possibly give a fight at ROBOWAR

Do you have any robot

Do you have any robot building experience? If no then start small, blinking LED, get a motor turning etc. If you are experienced then I doubt you would be asking this question ;)

Do you mean "Robot Wars"? That is remote controlled stuff, not autonomous.

You do not even need a microcontroller, you will just have to learn how to make your own RC car, and then make it in Iron :) Add an axe as well :D

Whats funny is that way over in denmark you just said "That is also what she told me yesterday!"

which is basically the same thing we do here in the states

Guy 1: "Slam it hard" 

Guy 2: "Thats what she said"

..? Robo War?

I'm not sure it should be called robo war!? it should be radio controlled battle vehicle as they certainly aren't robots.. I think its just something they decided to call it because they couldn't be creative and it wasn't a remote controlled boat, plane,helicopter,plant,car,mayonnaise. I personally wouldn't participate in such a thing . Have you seen what they do to those precious raw materials and chassis that could actually be made into *real* robots... ppffppth.

Start with making some

Start with making some decissions.

  • What weight-class and/or size-class do you want to build. Rule of thumb is: bigger is badder and way more expencive.
  • What is your budget.
  • What is your time frame. When do you plan to have it finished.
  • What kind of knowledge do you (and your robo team) have. Are you an RC hobbyist already, do you know how to weld, etc

Once these questins are answered,the easiest aproach would be to check out the competition (using google is a nice start), and find out what kind of machine you wanna build.When you've found the kind of propultion you want, and what kind of weapon, it's time to go to the drawing board and start designing a body.

(oh. And the vast majority of the heavy weight robots do have microcontrollers, both for helping with weapons controll and with maneuvering)

I'm to handsome for your kind of people

 I bother because I like to be nice and helpfull to everybody who asks for help. If I feel the urge to be rude, I do that somewhere dedicated to such behaviour, like /b/... If I feel the urge to contribute to robot building, I choose LMR... Quite simple, wouldn't you think?
