WHO WANTS TO PRINT MY 3D Printed Gifts? (Rephrased...)

Every year I make my future mother- and sister-in-law custom gifts (usually a horse and an owl, respectively.)  This year it occurred to me that I could create them digitally and have another LMRtian with a 3D printer print them for me, giving me a chance to spread a few bucks around.

If anyone is willing to do this with me, can you give me an idea of what it would run me for pieces that would fit in a 10cmvolume (the owl would actually probably be 5x5x10, the horse 5x10x7) and if you can work with files generated from open source warez available to Motorolla Macs (ie, can you print from a Sketchup file?)  If those dimensions are just outside of your abilities, let me know how big you can go and I might be able to scale down.

Also I suppose it would be important that you could accept Paypal and have time to do it and ship it before the relevant holiday...

Thanks guys!

I'll try for free!  Could end up looking like a dog and a chicken though...

SFACT will attempt to show a price in the console. You would only need to adjust a few settings to get an idea. I believe it uses python.

Max if you can send me the stl, I can try to slice and do a rough calculation. However me being in Europe shipping might be a problem.

You're right, I can see shipping being prohibitive. I should probably be stateside on this one.

have a volume of 200mm x 200mm x 100mm.

A free standing horse would be difficult, if not impossible, to print whole. Two halves wouldn't be easy, but, probably doable.

STL files are what the slicing software works with. Sketchup files can be converted, if they are saved in the proper format to begin with. It would be better if you could supply them as STL files to begin with.

A search is here.

Pricing would depend on mass of plastic used. I would guess the prints will be about 35% fill. Very rough calculation says maybe $5 in plastic and whatever they think their time is worth? I could be so far off on my math that "it isn't even funny".

Don't worry, I do it godfather-style:head only.

Dammit, I didn't even see it.
