My first robot
This is my first robot - or more correctly my recent version of my first robot. I will post some video later. It has gone trough some changes since I first assembled it a couple of weeks ago - mostly in body design. I followed fritsl's guide on how to make your first robot http://letsmakerobots.com/node/17 but with the SRF05 instead of the Sharp infrared sensor. The code is copied from fritsl's post. I just assembled the part and trimmed the code to my pins on the board and off it went - a bit 'scared of obstacles' until I trimmed some more code but hey - it's quite amazing that a total newbe like me can get this working just like that - the guide is really nice - thank you, fritsl!
Now with front bumper

...and on/off switch

The bumper is not really usefull unless it is hit dead on center, so I'm gonna add another one to the front and maybe two in the back too.

Hey - Grey cable on SRF05..
Hey - Grey cable on SRF05.. If it does not work all the sudden, it may be the cable; Aparently the "header" or what ever it is called - the female part of the connector is not made for 5.000 times turning head.. And so it gets lose inside the cable-head! (my experiance recently, after doing the same thing in half a year!)

Oh well - both the cable
Oh well - both the cable and the servo could fail some time soon then? - offcourse I read your remark on that servo after purchasing it... But anyway nice to know where to look for the failure when it happens if I don't replace it before that. Btw do you have any experience with the cheaper E-Sky 8 grams servo?
Sorry, will try to be ahead
Sorry, will try to be ahead :D
Must.. make.. robots.. that .. fail.. faster.. than.. anyone.. elses.. :D
To the servos in general; No. I do not know one servo from another. I just know that I had a lot of little blue ones, and they all stop working one after the other. Maby I got a cheap imitation, and you have the branded goods!

You can't beat my first
You can't beat my first attempt - it drowe like 20km/hr into a wall and broke in a few seconds - it looked cool though ;-)
