Turn your servo into a powerful linear actuator
Provided you have the tools and the servo you can built this for under a couple of bucks. The actuator extends with a rate of about 50mm/min. It is rather slow but … Read more

DreamMaker Overlord sneak preview

Well, it's time to inform you that the DreamMaker Overlord is launching on Kickstarter soon.

What is the Overlord?

Overlord is a FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication) delta 3D printer with a build volume of 150mmD x 160mmH (OverLord) or 170mmD x 260mmH (OverLord Pro). The 3D printer is capable of printing PLA or ABS, uses automatic leveling for precise printing, pause/resume function and many other new features.

Verbal Skills and NLP

I'm starting this forum for discussing verbal skills in robots including but not limited to natural language processing.  I'd like this to be a place to discuss conventional and out of the box ideas for improving verbal skills in robots.  This could involve:

Simplified occupancy grid mapping

I have a setup, where a distance sensor, such as sonar or IR, rotates about 180 degrees and takes a distance measurement every few degrees. What I would like to do is to create a occupancy grid out of these measurements on an Arduino or, more specifically, I would like to compare two different algorithms, which create the grids.
One of these algorithms would be made by myself, but in order to make a solid comparison, I would like the other algorithm to be the one which is mentioned in occupancy grid materials and research papers, which utilizes a binary Bayes filter.
All my project ideas needed CNC motion, which was due, at least in my shop, for a standardized approach which will hopefully classify the extruder, laser diode, and … Read more
