This is my first robot. I made it some years ago before I knew of programmable chips, so it was connected with wires to a computer (COM). It is a very simple design (well-known) using only two servos to walk. The metal is from a big old lunch box and the legs is made from threaded bars and old tent poles.

That wouldn't be too hard to modify so it can turn. Assuming you haven't raided it for parts. A servo on each footplate that can twist a second plate underneath while the weight is on that foot.
