Last year we spend considerable amount of time building the new version of our robotics vehicle. Here is the result - the small tracked vehicle which might be intereresting for researchers in robotcs, AI, computer vision as well as for DIY enthusiasts. All the model, assembling instructions and software are open source.

The idea that finally got me back into robot building. Or at least design using electroics.

The premise is to create a new drive system for a vehicle. I want to start small at first, then grow larger up to person carrying abilities. I have a lot of previous experience creating glorified RC cars for "robot" competisions, so I'm not trying to do anything autonomous, or even remote controled.

Real-time enough? About PWMs and shaky servos

We are currently working on the next incarnation of our software and hardware platform for vehicles controlled over the Internet. Among others, we decide to investigate the way to control our robot without micro-controllers. In fact, BeagleBoard has a lot of GPIOs available. In addition, three hardware PWM generators and I2C bus should be enough at least to control the tank with camera, compass, GPS, and sonar.
