I am NOT a java devloper.  I work primarily in PHP and Asp.Net so you'll have to forgive me for this post, but i'm hitting up my favorite community of geeks for help as I'm sure many of you have written android bluetooth robot controllers before.

Sphinx 4

Ok so I downloaded Sphinx 4 and I am attempting to use it with Java. I am using Eclipse and this is all going down on a Windows XP. I have downloaded everything I need but I can't seem to figure out which JAR files I need in my library in Eclipse. I was wondering if someone who has some experience with Sphinx could offer some insight into how to get everything set up and running so I can start coding. I basically need to know which JAR files I need in my library. Thanks for the help! 

IOIO-SHR version 2 sneak preview

Started this weekend with the 2nd version of my IOIO-SHR (Start Here Robot). Because Santa brought me a Rover 5 chassis on christmas, this would become the chassis for it. I got the 2WD version including wheel encoders and the motor controller board.

Here are some shots from the assembly test.

The IOIO is mounted on a carrier board with 3 pin headers for all IOs. Some Jumpers are available to select the supply voltage for the IO headers, 3.3V, 5V from the IOIO or external servo voltage.

Servo control in Java

Hello everyone. I am making my first robot, and it's going to be a hexapod.

I have trouble with finances so I don't have most of the parts yet, and I have to make things work with parts I have before I can get more money from my club for other stuff I need.

I have 3 CARSON CS-3 502015 servo motors and Intellibrain board (I've got it for robotics competition). I program it in Java becouse it doesn't support anything else, and compiler I use is RoboJDE.

Qwerk control with processing

So I was doubly inspired by Chris the Carpenter's recent experiments with robot control via processing, and f5pql's heavily-equipped qwerk-based robot to do some more tinkering of my own. I'd been programming the qwerk for autonomous operation through the SimpleRobotClient, and controlling it directly through the telepresence DiffDrive client, but was beginning to wish I could somehow construct a hybrid of the two. But building a client from scratch - or even just tweaking the existing ones - looked scary!

I can do the coding and datbase side of things, hardware will be dependant on everyones robots but i use arduino and plan to go n to a beagle board i nthe long run and Cris uses pic so we should be able to make this pretty portable for everyones projects.

 

At the moment im working on a nice GUI(Graphical User Interface) to make it easier to see whats happening and hopefully cut down on development time.
