Hooking up a servo to picaxe 28x/40x project board.

On my current project I am using the Picaxe 28x/40x project board and I don't know where to hook up servos on it.  I searched around on the internet a lot but couldn't find anything about where to hook them up.  Not even the board's manual said.  I don't know if I missed it or what but I can't believe that picaxe would just let you go find this out for yourself.  I even entered the code to center a servo and went around on the board and tried to find were it was.  I also remembered to put a 330 omh resistor on the signal line of the servo.  I

Pin Connector size for picaxe

Hi everyone,

My first post here. Started reading this couple of weeks ago and have most of the parts for the start here project.

Question itself - I am having trouble getting pin connector blocks here in uk and am not sure about the sizes. I AM a beginner here so please bear with me. I have bought 0.1" female pin crimps to make my own jumper cables, however, when I try to hook that up to picaxe board its loose. I assume that thats the wrong size.

So what size pins are they and where in UK could I get them? Or am I completely out of my depths?

Newbie to programming here, I wanted to ask some questions.

I hope I'm posting in the right place, I assume beginners would be the place for me.

There are a couple things I would like to know if are possible.

I would like to manipulate a ring with a motor. But I would like the ring to move to a specific position dictated by a joystick. In short, the marked forward position of the ring would be pointing the same direction as the joystick is pointing.

How to control a motor fwd and revs picaxe -08m2

Hi everyone this is my first forums post here

I have a bit of a problem that i am trying to work out and that is how to control two motor with a picaxe school experimenter board and an -08m2 chip. This is for a very simple robot that should be able to go forward hit an object triggering a switch which will stop the robot, reverse it and then turn it around before moving off to crash into something else.

can anybody help me with any resources or circuit diagrams.

thanks very much

Picaxe Roboshield

I think to design robot shield with Picaxe 14M.

It has 14M CPU,L293D motor driver,Memory circuit  24LC32, programming input, male headers and some else parts.

Do you think it can be good?

picaxe microcontrollers

hi just wondering can i use a picaxe microcontroller without a project board (ie on its own or a bradboard?)

i dont think i even want to do this but it would help me learn a bit about how stuff works, probably

Problems with programming picaxe

Hello! I have a problem with programming PICAXE 08M.

It says it can't connect to the CPU. And i don't know why it says so.

I'm doing everything what it says but it doesn't help me.

Can YOU help me to program it?

EDIT: I connect the cable to the COM port and put batteries. Then i wroted the program and try to move it to CPU.

tts 256 text to speech serial data

If anybody knows this it would be great help to me. on the tts 256 data sheet it says on start up that the tts256 transmits serial data to host processor, but Im not sure what data it is sending for me to receive. Im using a picaxe microcontroller.

Funny behaviour in a picaxe...

Hi all, I hope people can help with this, cos I'm baffled.

I've been using a picaxe 08M2 (the new one) to control a stepper motor, which works fine until I want to use the free input to trigger the motor.

When I do that no input affects what the chip is doing

I took it back to the program, nothing odd there, so I tried using a pushbutton switch to turn an LED on and off.

If I use this program:

main:

if pinC.3 = 1 then

Problems with axe 08m and l293n

Hi LMR!

I have a teeny problem - I'm playing with stepper motors for my next robot, the plan is to have an 18M2 sending serial packets to a pair of 08M2s which each will control one stepper, to save outputs on the 18.

My problem is this, when I have the 18 running into the L293 driver the motor runs perfectly, but when I use an 08 nothing happens and it gets hot (I fear the magic smoke)...

Mapping With Picaxe

For a current project I want to try mapping a room with a picaxe but do not know how to get started.    With this project I want to be able to find my way to certain places in the room and want to be able to know when I got there.  For example I would want to map a room and I would want to be able to set different spots in the room to look for objects.  Then once it found an object in a certain spot it would take it to another predetermend spot.  An example would be if it would find anything next to the foot of my bed pick it up

Tamiya Twin motor gear box

Hi guys

I have a question

Does the tamiya twin motor work with the L293D Motor Driver IC

I am going to connect it to a picaxe would it work.

Make Your Own PICAXE USB Program Cable

Hi everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone else has made their own PICAXE program transfer cable?

I had all the equipment to make one, 2.5mm stereo jack, colour coded wire, a usb plug and soldering equipment; so I thought i'd give it a go!

The connections for the PICAXE cable seemed very simple (having only Serial in, Serial Out and Ground) and knowing that a usb's connections were quite similar (Ground, Data+, Data- and Vcc) so I tried to match them up.

Lots of strange Sharp IR Noise…?

Hey everyone. So, I just finished my first robot in a few years, my first being 2 1/2 years ago. This one is a lot more complicated in terms of hardware since I made my own boards and all, and have 5 ICs in one circuit. I'm done with programming and everything runs well but there's one ongoing problem with my Sharp IR GP2D120 sensor.

The robot controller app is out! Woo Hoo! Finally, a Android-based hobbyist robot controller that works with every microprocessor. There is no corresponding … Read more

Accuracy of 28 X1 without external resonator?

In my circuit, I have 2 Picaxe 28X1s. The only suitable external ceramic resonator I have is on the 28 pin project board and I don't want to ruin it by accident during desoldering. I am making my own board for each Picaxe, and need to know how accurate the timing of the Picaxes will be only using the internal resonator. Picaxe A is using 2 PWM channels driving motors on a separate power supply handled by an L293D, all other outputs to drive other ICs, will read 1 ADC channel, 2 digital sensors, and 1 digital input.

Walks forward, backward, spins, blinks.

Where to begin with PIC chips?

Okay, so I've gone out & bought my Arduino clone, had fun* with it, bought a truckload of ATMEGA 48-328's & had fun* with them and would like to now broaden my horizons a little. I'd like to see what's on the other side of the fence & give PIC chips a try. From what I can see, both have their advantages/disadvantages & can excel in some areas where the other may flounder.
