Fancontroller

Right, back again with an update on my idea for a kick-ass fanctroller. So far, I've been coding away and right now, I'm up to the point where the actual fan control is implemented (I've already written the LCD-commands, several input functions, a setup and a menu.) But I'm having some problems.

As some of you may already know, I'm building an RC car which will ignore user input and prevent a crash when necessary. It'll run on an arduino platform. I'm … Read more

The mother of all fancontrollers... Hopefully

So, I'm the process of making the -in my opinion- ultimate PC fan/pump controller for use with a water cooling system.

The idea is to make a bracket which fits into a 5.25" bay and holds an LCD, some type of input (probably joystick) and an arduino, so the temperature responses are completely programmable. It should have three fan/pump channels and 3-6 (however many ADCs I have left, at least 3) temperature sensors.

This idea came from CtC, who posted it here. I accidently stumbled on my old 40 MHz FM remote (like 25+years old) which I had lying around. You can scavenge a few … Read more

What transistor to use?

This is a pain in my ass: I'm building an H-bridge to power a motor which draws 1.5A without load and 15A at stall when given a supply voltage of 8V. I'm using two NPN and two PNP transistors. I'm using +5V as high signal. I'm going to use PWM on this thing. Can anyone here adivse me on what transistors to use? I'm searching on this for days.

Electric braking

I'm working on an RC car and was thinking about the braking. The idea is: I'm driving at full speed and need to turn. Obviously, because my car is going to break the land speed limits ( ;) ), it cannot take the turn at full speed so I'll need to slow down. Now, just releasing the throttle won't be enough, so I'll have to brake extra somehow. I was thinking about giving slight reverse throttle, so that with PWM, I can handle the braking intensity. Now I don't know what this would mean current-wise.

Arduino

Just ordered the following:

Arduino UNO, Arduino xbee shield, 2x xbee 1mw, Sharp IR-sensor, 2 joysticks!

And I can't wait for it to arrive :D

Xbee ADC

Ok, so I'm working on a plan to bring my little brother's little Niko RC car (you know, these models that suddenly break down for no reason at all after three charges) back to life. The plan is:

RC car

Ok, so I'm working on a plan to bring my little brother's little Niko RC car (you know, these models that suddenly break down for no reason at all after three charges) back to life. The plan is:

  1. Yank out old electronics (fun job, done ^^)
  2. Test steering servo and current draw of drive motor
  3. Build new electronics

Step 2 will be done by tonight but I have a few hickups on step three.

Picaxe Net Server

Hey guys,

Is there anyone here who has already used the Picaxe Net Server module? :)

What was your experience?

Thanks!
